BELON
Founder
BELON is a gravity-fed water filter designed as a tool: a polished steel funnel that holds a filter cartridge and sits on whatever carafe or bottle you already own. A pour-over, for water — not an all-in-one pitcher.
THE DESIGN
Filtering water is a sequence — fill, wait, serve, drink — and each step became a design question. How do you fill it without getting water everywhere? What does water look like as it filters, and what does it sound like? Where does it live when it isn't in use? Can you pour mid-filter? And finally: what does the water taste like?
THE NAME
BELON is named for the European flat oyster raised where the Belon river meets the sea in Brittany. An oyster spends its life filtering the water it lives in. So does the funnel.
THE COMPANY
Self-funded.
